Pioneer Electric awards scholarships to local students
2025 scholarship recipients

Pioneer Electric Cooperative is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 scholarship awards, supporting the educational goals of outstanding students across its service area.

This year, Pioneer Electric awarded scholarships to nine high school seniors to support their pursuit of higher education. These scholarships are part of the cooperative’s commitment to investing in the communities it serves and encouraging the success of future leaders.

Scholarship recipients were selected by an independent committee based on academic achievement, community involvement, leadership and letters of recommendation. 

$1,000 Electric Cooperative Foundation Scholarships:
Since 1997, the Electric Cooperative Foundation has provided scholarships to graduating high school students attending college or vocational/technical schools. The awards are open to graduating seniors whose parents or guardians are Pioneer Electric members. 

This year’s recipients are Charisa Bullard and Katie Nimmer. 

Charisa is graduating from McKenzie High School and plans to continue her education at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College. Katie is graduating from Greenville High School and plans to study biology at Auburn University.

$1,000 Operation Round Up Scholarships:
Pioneer Electric’s Operation Round Up Charitable Foundation provides five scholarships to graduating high school seniors whose parents or guardians are Pioneer Electric members. 

This year’s recipients are Sydney Blackmon, Cade Henderson, Jack Houston, Alana Jones and Riley Lane.

Sydney is graduating from Fort Dale Academy and will attend Lurleen B. Wallace Community College to study nursing. Cade is graduating from John T. Morgan Academy and plans to study engineering at Auburn University. Jack is graduating from McKenzie High School and plans to study exercise physiology and physical therapy at Troy University. Alana is graduating from McKenzie High School and plans to study business at Troy University. Riley is graduating from Lowndes Academy and plans to study nursing at Auburn University.

$5,000 Lineworker Training Scholarships:
Pioneer Electric’s Operation Round Up Charitable Foundation provides two scholarships for students who attend a 15-week lineworker training program.

This year’s recipients are Kaleb Bibb and Deandre Mobley.

Kaleb is graduating from Calhoun High School and will train at Northeast Lineman College in Edgewater, Fla. Deandre is graduating from Georgiana High School and will train at Southeast Lineman Training Center in Trenton, Ga.
