INSIDE PIONEER ELECTRIC

Annual Meeting: Membership Matters

Annual Meetings are an opportunity for members to take part in the business of the cooperative. They offer an opportunity for members to learn about the cooperative's programs and services, vote in trustee elections, visit with co-op staff and leadership, participate in activities and win door prizes.

The 2026 Annual Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, October 17 at the Butler County Fairgrounds.

2026 Proposed Bylaws Amendment

Pioneer Electric’s Bylaws are the rules that guide how your cooperative operates. They explain things like how trustees are elected, who can serve on the board and how the cooperative conducts its business.

Like any governing document, the Bylaws are reviewed from time to time to make sure they remain clear and relevant.Bylaws Amendment

Because the Bylaws belong to the membership, any changes must be approved by a vote of the members. The last Bylaw amendment was approved in October 2019.

A portion of the Bylaws is dedicated to the trustee election process. These sections outline the qualifications to serve on the board, how trustee nominations are made and how elections are conducted.

The Bylaws Review Committee suggested an update to the trustee qualification section to make the Bylaw clearer and easier to apply. The proposed amendment uses a simpler definition for elected public office rather than listing specific government positions.

This approach makes the Bylaw easier to understand and helps ensure it remains current if government titles or responsibilities change in the future.

When you receive your Annual Meeting voting packet, you’ll have the opportunity to vote in the trustee election and on this proposed amendment.

We encourage every member to review the information provided before casting your ballot. If you have questions about the proposed amendment, please call us at (334) 382-6636. We’ll be glad to answer your questions so you can make an informed decision.
